    Help

My GS1000g dies when it idles.

I over filled the engine oil and only realised a few days later. I've empieted the excess oil. but when the bike is running its like some wet/ slurping noises coming from the exhaust, this is not constant but infrequent.

I checked the air filter, seems fine, i'm about to change the spark plugs. as the others were looking as if theie time was up.

the bike runs reasonably well at higher speeds. my uncle thinks it might either damp as it hasnt been run for two weeks or excess oil floating about.

Any thoughts would be a great help

    thanks

Check compression. My guess is a stuck valve or bad valve clearance.

      Oh God, another Essex Girl

How much did you overfill by ?

A little over is not a problem. To the top of the filler cap is a ball buster

Is it a 8 or a sixteen valve ? Not that that really matters, but it might help to understand if it's a valve issue

      Not that I know you're uncle, but he's a pi$$-taking bastard

My mechanic told me a story about how some guy put like 3 quarts of oil in his bike and it blew all of his seals. Now, im not trying to worry you or anything but it could be a possibility.
Does the bike smoke alot of white smoke or anything? if it does blows even alittle white smoke, it means your lubrication ring is getting wore out but you don't really have to worry until it starts to billow it out. When you said that there is odd noises coming from the exhaust, well, that sounds like valves to me.
