GS300 Starter Gear Broke

I need to get a new starter gear for my 1982 Suzuki GS 300, some of the teeth have broken off of the old one. I was wondering if anybody knows if some of the other GS bikes around the same year have interchangable starter gears. Bike bandit has the exact gear I need but I don't want to pay 70 bucks for it when there are ones that look the same on ebay going for 15 to 20. Thanks!

edit: if you want I can take some pictures so you can see what it looks like.

Due us a favor and do some research; check the part numbers of the gear on some other model GS bikes so see if you get a match. The fishe at Alpha-Sports is the best for this purpose. Check the 400/450/550 etc. and let us know so someone can chase down a gear for you. I have one from a GS1000 but I doubt that one will match.

I'll check it out. I could only find a number on bike bandit but it didn't match anything.

the part number on alpha sports is 12611-11401, I put a picture of the part in the post too if that helps.

Did you look up the same part on a GS450 or some other models to see if the number is the same?
