I don't know what that's for. My GS400 has that same thing on the side of the rear drum but there's nothing attached to it. The bike is bone stock and I've had it since new, so I'm sure it wasn't used for anything from the factory. That part was used on about 40 other models, so it probably had some use on one or more of them...Comment

yep its for a cable. why couldn't that same hub have been used on some bike with a front drum brake at one time? probably was and the casting just wasn't changed over the yearsComment
