    Wiring info

Over the winter I am going to do some more tinkering on the bike. I had thought about replacing the wiring harness, but it only has a few bad spots in it. Does anyone know where I can get replacement wire by the foot? I think I can replace the bad sections from end to end. If I counted right, there are 30 different color combinations(wire/tracer) and being able to use the same color/tracer combo would be best. Also, what gage is the wire? I'm thinking 16 or 18, but didn't find that listed in the manual.

    Thanks,

    Andy

    Hi Andy,

This came up just a little while ago. Here were the sources mentioned...

Z1 Enterprises specializes in quality Motorcycle parts for Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha Classic Japanese motorcycles from the 1970's and 1980's.

That should get you started anyway. I hope all is well with you and yours.

    Thank you for your indulgence,

How about picking up a spare harness and stripping out the wire you need? I might be able to help since I have a hacked up harness you might be able to use.

Don't forget Vintage Connections to replace any broken plugs or brass bullet connectors.

PO hacked a bunch of em out of my bike doing a R/R upgrade, bashing in a CDI (what it's doing I can't tell) and mauling the tail light wiring

Most of the wire is 18G. I'd get Ed's old harness. They sure come in handy!
