Headlamp & Turn Light...
So I opened up my headlamp and disconnected the light (I was replacing the ignition switch). When I replaced it, the headlamp didn't work, and the "high beam" indicator was on no matter what setting I was in. In addition, the left turn signal's funky -- when pressed, the indicator lights up (without blinking), but the signal lights turn off fully, I.E, no blinking at all. Any thoughts?Tags: None -

Hi,
It's possible that in all the activity the filament got broken. That would mean a new bulb is necessary. Clean all the connections and check for broken wires inside the connectors. Keep us informed.
Thank you for your indulgence,

General rule of thumb ... when electrical stuff is doing funny things, it's a bad ground. Check all the connections in the area where you were working.

The headlamp was simply a wire that had pulled itself out of the headlamp. But the turn signal... It's not making a clicking noise or lighting up! Ahhh, what do I do?Comment

Try honking the horn and flashing the brake lights.
Yeah. Really. I'm not kidding.
The turn signals, horn and brakes share the same fuse. If at least one of them works, it's not the fuse.
If the fuse is OK, grab a wiring diagram and start following wires.
But, ... before you grab a wiring diagram, you had better figure out what bike you have. You haven't told us yet, so we don't know if you know, either.

Oh, well, that's not difficult. It's a 1980 GS1000GT. It ain't the fuses so I guess I'll start following wires...Comment

OK, your turn signals are powered by the third fuse, if that helps.
By the way, this is why we suggest to all the new guys:
put your bike in your signature so you don't have to remember to mention it every time you ask a question, and ...
also put your location in your profile. Someone might be close enough to you to offer to help.
