    Remove bearings for Swingarm powdercoat?

    Hey all,
I'm about to have my swinger powdercoated. Do I have to remove/replace the bearings or can they just be covered? I just realized this might be an issue. They are in fine shape so hopefully not. Thanks for the advice!

You can leave them in. Just make sure that they are well masked plus if the swinger is being grit blasted before coating, make sure that you get out every last bit of grit.

A powdercoat guy I spoke to wanted bearings out so there was no issue with grease. That along with having to press out the shock mount bushings (rubber and 400 deg would not be good) is why I just went the paint route.

I had my swingarm powder coated with the bearings inside, When I got it back, they must have warped, the swingarm bolt bushings did not fit. I had to replace the bearings.

I had some wheels done recently and the bearings had to be removed. They also wanted everything degreased before they would accept the part.
