gs850 and gs1000 loom

hi, is there much difference between a gs 850 and gs1000 loom (1980). i have a gs 850 (1980) and have found a gs1000 loom for a reasonable price. im thinking they should be pretty much the same?

Hi,

I'm sure it will be quite usable, minor modifications required. Is the GS1000 loom a "G" model? That would be even closer. Have you tried comparing the part numbers?

I have one from a 80 GS750E and one from a 82 GS850GL.
Both in fantastic shape.

They're not the same but can be used with light mods.

thanks for the replys. just to finish this post off i bought the loom which was off a 1000 L model. my 850 has L model forks so it might well be an L. got the loom on now and its pretty much the same. used the 850 manual to find what does what with no probelms.
