    Needle valve seat

    Hello All,

Have a 82GS850GL w/CV Carbs. I am taking them apart for cleaning and the needle valve seats seem to be stuck in 3 of them, 1 came out fairly easily. Is there a way to free these up? I do not want to use too much force and damage them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try a little heat. If you damage them I have a few good spares.

You have an o-ring kit from Mr. Robert Barr, right ? There's an o-ring in there, but you're going to replace it anyway with the one from the kit.

Just try not to get it out of round, it could cause potential problems later.

Soak them with some spray carb cleaner for a few minutes.. Sometimes the crud will make the stick. Same thing happened when I did mine last weekend and this did the trick.

          Mr. Snark is correct.

I just pulled mine apart tonight getting ready to dip. 2 of my four stuck and a shot of juice freed them up. I use a paper clip strightened with the tip turned into a small J to pull them out. No problemo.

They are likely pretty squished so a set of Mr. Barr's o's are going to be necessary.

          Good luck with it.

          Cheers,

Thanks all, a little spray, a little extra wiggle got them out. Also got a plain white envelope in the mail today from Mr. Barr
