    carb rebuild

I purchased an aftermarket carb rebuild kit that is apparently universal for all GS models 80-83.
Should I replace the main jet washer with the rubber gasket provided in the kit, or reuse the washer?
It's already back together, but I'd rather switch it now before reinstalling.

Reuse all the stock brass parts if possible, not just a washer. Aftermarket carb parts are typically lower quality as compared to the good Mikuni parts furnished from new.

Use the brass one that is in your carbs. That isn't what you think it is anyways.

The suggestion to use the original is good, sometimes the replacements are not always the correct size. You can be chaising your tail wondering why it won't run right.. AT least get a magnafier an check the numbers
