    !6 valve 1100 Cam Questions?

1: Does anyone out there run a higher lift on the intake cam than they do the exhaust?

2: Do you need to run valve lash caps after a certain amount of lift, or is that only for titanium valves?

3: When running high lift cams (370 or higher) on the street, would you be better off to degree the intake cam 5 degrees or more lower than exhaust, or keep both degreed about the same?

The degree of the cams all depends on what riding style you plan on doing.

Send a PM or wait for rapidray to come along. He is knowledgeable about 16v 1100 engines.

I thought it had to do with the piston to head transfer rate of the aluminum.

It is common on many engines for the intake to be of a higher lift than the exhaust. the exhaust port only needs to flow 60% of what the intake does to make maximum power in a naturally aspirated engine. (turbo is another story)

the lash caps are for the softer titanium valves.
