NO!!! The 1100 basket uses an 87 tooth gear & the 1150 gear has 89 teeth. The baskets will NOT interchange with the other's crank. The 750 has 99 & slows the clutch down even more. Slowing the basket down makes the clutch have a bigger tuning window in a high HP application. That is why Pro Stock bikes use the 750 ratio gears. Ray.Comment

Aaah, ok.. ive learned something today.. there's a star racing prepped 1150 basket on ebay with a $50 starting bid and less than a day left on it. Relisted - no one bid the 75 he was asking last time...Comment

The picture in that auction shows what looks like a bone stock basket. Stock backing plate, stock springs, stock non-welded rivets, and just how do you undercut the teeth on a primary drive gear? Star used to weld their name onto the backing plate to I.D. their work. Danger Will Robinson, danger-danger!

I apologise for being wrong so much, It's getting embarrising. BUT I bolted a clutch basket, from a 1980 GS1100E into my "85" GS 1150 E. It fit & worked perfectly for the few months, till I found a good 1150 basket to put back in it. Couldn't notice any difference in the RPM to speed ratio because of the two less teeth. The 1150 basket did have 89 teeth, & the 1100 basket had only 87, & the 1150 baskets have slightly larger springs under the backing plate. I hope Ray will explain what I'm missing. Please forgive my ignorance but if one clutch hub gear has 87 teeth and another has 89, the diameter of the gear will be different no? I don't see how these clutch baskets could interchange unless the shafts were moved closer together.Ed

I thought the same thing before I installed the 1100 basket. If you lay the gears, one on top of the other, you can't tell one from the other. If you use a large micrometer, you would think the 89 tooth gear must be larger. Didn't try the 1150 basket in the 1100 to see if the 89 tooth gear would have fit into the 1100 crank gear.1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw. come on man..I thought the same thing before I installed the 1100 basket. If you lay the gears, one on top of the other, you can't tell one from the other. an 1100 will fit in the 1150 engine because it is smaller..2 teeth smaller.
in the end you will damage the primary gear teeth on both the crank and basket.
just because you can drop a round peg in a square hole doesn't mean it fits.
FYI.
1150 basket won't fit in an 1100 engine unless you use a huge sledge hammer.
kinda like trying to pounding a square ped in a round hole.
