    cleaning fuel send unit

    any tips on cleaning the fuel sender gauge that has got a heap of browny yucky stuff on it?

        Since they swim in gas how about a good carb dip. Tie the float outside the dip of course.

          I sprayed mine with contact cleaner and WD-40. Since #1 son has the bike now, I can only assume it's working well, as he has not complained about it.

          I did, however, have to bend things around a bit to add a bit of tension to the wiper, as it was not making good connection.
          After doing that, I was getting consistent resistance readings on the leads.
