    Bike WONT START!

I just recently had to replace the r/r and ignitor(got used parts on ebay) Bike was running good, replaced handlebars and was just about to work on some cosmetic things-but now it wont start-which f*** sucks.Just rode it a few days ago and everything seemed fine. The battery is fine, light are working and has spark. What could have happened? What should i check? Thanks!

    Check the plugs for gas.

      !

thanks for your help! Does that mean to check the spark plugs? They look clean,
could it be the r/r unit?

Install new plugs(sparkplugs), even if they look clean.
If ya been goofin around with the wiring I'd backtrack with everything you did and check it again. Pay specific attention to all the grounds.

thanks-ill try new spark plugs. The only thing i did recently was to change the handlebars. The wires did come off the kill switch and I soddered them back on. But it was runnin gfine after-and it attempts to start when I hit the start button.

just so i understand, you have spark, good batt, plugs clean and not wet, is the starter motor turning the engine? (thats the problem i just had/have) are you getting good compression? are you getting gas to the carbs? is the petcock working? did you swap spark plug wires?(which would give you spark on the exhaust instead of compression stroke) well good luck in getting her running again.

If it ran fine before what did you do to make it not run?

I have been having the same problem with my 700. I have a spark, plugs are wet, fresh battery, new petcock, carbs re-built. Starter turns over and it sounds like it going to fire than nothing??? Starter turns and turns??

Kinda hard to read the asterisks. Please try to use words that won't get bleeped.

How do you check the plugs?
Try cranking the engine like you have been.
Remove a spark plug, look at the porcelain.
If it's wet, you have wet plugs.

                            .
