Edit: Send your engine to Ray along with about $2500 to $3000 and you'll be in business on 130 HP.

To get to 130 at the wheel on a GS1000 (and uber experts like Ray may contradict me) without forced induction, you're talking oversized valves, probably bored to well over 1100, bigger carbs, MAJOR mods. if you start at the factory 87, 130 is a 67% increase in HP. Getting to 100 HP on a streetable GS is more reasonable.

Wish I would have known that in the first place...$2500 to $3000 is what I will have in it anyway! Thanks for all the info though. I am sure 105hp will be just fine, I guess from what I have read from the old Suzuki write-ups, I had thought the GS1000's were around 98hp stock. I have no intention of racing this bike anyway, I just want it to be a good potent and fun street bike.Comment

I have the following cams that I can sell you if you are interested.
Cam Motion S4: .420" lift, 269 dgrs @ .040" lift, 262 dgrs @ .050" lift.
Cam Motion S7 .429" lift, 272 dgrs @ .040" lift, 266 dgrs @ .050" lift.
I also have shim-under-buckets and a big port head (38mm at carb boot I think). If i dig around I might even have a used 1085 kit.Comment

I just bought today a nice set of webcams...but I still need a 1085 Weisco Kit. If you would have one of those lying around, that would be great. For $469.95 I found a complete kit on www.dynoman.net/engine/pistons/suzi.html Seemed like a pretty good deal, but a good used set would be alright too. Thanks
