Are APE pods really rebranded k&n?

I have read in places that supposedly the APE pods are just re-branded K&N pods. Anyone know if this is true or not?

Not true. The APE filters are reputed to be high quality though.

I have heard this also but there are subtle differences i believe. Im pretty sure most people say this to make a comparison to quality instead of meaning they are actually the same

        K&N are washable...
the look-a-likes are not(DO NOT OIL THESE).
great filters for the money diff.
APE/don plesser ect.. sells these filters.
the emgo chrome cones are the problem filters(5 bucks each) you get what you pay for.

Why not ask Jay from Ape, he's on this board sometimes.

I've compared them side by side and saw no difference.

                  oh,
                  for the record.......
the K&N clones use an automotive style wide clamp and the filter rubber has no groove for the clamp.
K&N's use a narrow clamp and the rubber is molded to hold the clamp in place.
                  any other questions????

does the APE brand the chrome end cap?

just googled APE filters pictures..no branding on chrome cover.
the clones i speak of are sold by a few diff retailers..APE/Plesser/Cyclerama ect..

                        Just plain chrome ends.
                        Just in
The APE filters are only mesh screen with no filter element.
                        Color me wrong.
