    Parts Catalogue

A friend of mine has a 399cc GSX bike, production year 1981 and needs to replace it's 4 carbruetors' diaphrams. He doesn't know it's model and neither has he it's parts catalogue. However his bike was registered as a GSX40 and it's chasis no is GS40XF-505243.
Anyone out there can help identify the model and point him in the right direction towards getting a parts catalogue?
    Many thanks.

Can't help with IDing the bike, but have him check www.zedder.com for micro-fiche on CD.
Also check www.motorcyclecarbs.com for the diaphrams. They also rebuild them. (But it ain't cheap).

Thanks for the info,Pete;however the bike's ID is still a mystery.
I guess posting a picture might shed some light.

Check out http://mysuzuki.home-page.org/. They have almost every Suzuki model ever built. They also have original brochures on the site. I did a quick search on the site and found an 81 gsx 400. I think this will help!!

            Thanks guys,you're a great bunch .
Once the ID has been verified,we'll start searching for it's parts' manual.
