Are cam sprockets the same between the 8 valve and 16 valve models?

Easy way to answer these type of questions is to check the parts fiche and see if they are the same part number. I am going to guess no, but not sure.

I checked alpha sport and they show different part numbers, then I confirmed it my trying to put the sprockets on the cams and couldn't get it past the lobes.

If you have bigger than stock 8-valve cams you usually have to put a groove in the bore of the sprocket to clear the lobe. Aftermarket sprockets usually have this groove. Dar
