    Oil flow??

Things are moving along nicely w 81 1100e. The fairing is 1/2 mounted and I found some nice fittings for the oil cooler-turbo cooling line banjos. My question is how has anyone else determined if a restriction is necessary in the port entering the filter chamber? There are 3 alternatives-1:none,2:solid plug,3lug w hole for partial flow. I don't believe the solid plug is good as oil flow when cold might starve the engine. So that leaves open or partial blockage. I'm sure that others out there have been down this path so any ideas would be greatly appreciated.Guzzi John-Snowy Minnesota!

There is lots of info on this subject in the archives since this topic comes up quite often. Try the search function and click “Titles Only” to limit the number of hits you get. I’m pretty sure you are best served by getting an 1150 oil filter cover but please double check by searching for more details.

I determined to follow the OEM design which allows for split flow with a small by pass around the cooler. This might fall into your option #3 category.
