can you add APE studs without taking off the cylinders?

Also would it be wise to remove the copper gasket, clean, add bout 5-6 coats of cooper srpay (permatex) and some yamma bond? then torq it to spec?

I'd use Gaskacinch. I wouldn't use case sealer unless you never plan on getting it apart again.
        Pull the cylinders.

For the price you pay for APE studs, why not just get a mls or composite head gasket and never worry about it leaking again?

The COMETIC MLS gaskets that came with the Weisco 1166 kits ARE DEFECTIVE and leak almost immediately no matter what you do. They have a tooling problem with teh way the oil ports are sealed. Apparently this does not apply to the 8V COMETIC MLS gaskets.

The OEM Suzuki are not MLS ; MLS is a stainless steel gasket.

Here is what it sounded like the first time it was started. Notice the oil leak that started soon after.

This is the COMETIC composite gasket we had to put in after pulling the head again.

Anyway, after fining out this is the right gasket. I went into the garage at 10:45 and put the head, installed the cams and had the engine ready to fire by by 1:00 am. I started the bike up the next morning at 8:00 am.

The gasket i got from Suzuki was made of layers of steel, thats why I thought it was an MLS. The picture of the Cometic gasket is the same type that came with my Wiseco 750 kit. It sealed fine.
Is it only the 1168 gasket or other sizes that come with Wiseco big bore kits that have problems?
Has Wiseco realized the problem? Are they supplying different gaskets with the 1168 kits now?
