    '81 550L Airbox into a '79?

So I'd rather not deal with trying to re-jet my bike for the stupid pods the PO put on it and just go back to a stock airbox. Problem is, the only one that claims to be for a '79 550L on ebay at the moment is 80 bucks plus shipping. There's several much cheaper ones for '80 and '81 GS550's, but will it fit? Looking at the part numbers on partshark it does appear that the number is slightly diffferent, but the picture looks the same.
Sorry for asking what seems to be a silly question, but I can't seem to find an answer.

If it turns out that won't fit, could somebody give me a hint as to how to go about re-jetting?

    Thanks!

The airbox boots are different because Suzuki changed the carbs in 1980. Regarding your bike, I'd keep searching for the proper airbox. They come up often on ebay and also you might want to post in the Parts Wanted forum here.

Raise the needle a couple of notches and put a larger main jet in there. I'd start with two steps up. The jets go in 2.5 size increments but I consider a step at 5.
      EX. If you have a 115 main I'd go with a 125

Great, thanks much for the info. I've worked on old VWs before, but I was more of a bus guy so it was always FI, still working on figuring out the whole carb thing.
Any suggestions as to the best place to get jets? Starving college student so looking to save a few bucks as much as I can without getting junky parts.

I have jets. They may be Dynojet but they'll work. I have a set of 130s right here I'll send you. They are like 122.5 mikuni.
