Maybe a 30.06 mounted on the bars, locked and loaded and with a remote trigger hookup, might deter them!
...ah, maybe not, too tempting to use on people who cut in front of you.....

I had a pair of 40mm spud guns mounted in one of my cars, people still cut me off. It was fun to watch them try to figure out what that "Thwamp Thwamp" noise was. Most of them pulled over to check it out, so I guess it worked.

The deer won't hold still long enough...

The jury is still out on deer whistles, but I can tell you for a fact that there are others that work quite well.

I have lion whistles, tiger whistles, elephant whistles, crocodile whistles and giraffe whistles mounted on my Wing,
and believe me, I have NEVER seen any of them anywhere near me.

A friend of mine has an "active" deer alert on his Wing and swears by it. Most of them rely on moving air to create the whistle effect, but it only takes one bug in the whistle to eliminate its effectiveness. His "active" unit is actually a speaker that is driven by a powerful amplifier. Fortunately, it's all above the range of human hearing, but unfortunately, some experts doubt that deer can hear those higher frequencies.

One other thing that I have noticed that might work ... as wkmpt suggested, using two warning devices. I have found that a modulated headlight and ZZ Top blaring from the stereo actually gets their attention and they get away from the road.
