The calper was cleared of any and all debris, the walls of the cylinder were cleaned up not pits no rust nothing
the piston was also cleaned no pits rust, nothing.
New seals were installed. one on the left and one on the right.
erverything went back together .... i assume the right way.
2. also the right caliper seems to move as i apply brake pressure, as though the slides have slack in them. what kind of problem is this?
3. there seems to be not enough tension in the brake lever when brakes are applied. Spongy. now the lines are who knows how old. but do any of these other problems seem related. before i took apart the calipers there was a fair amount of pressure on the lever. so one might assume the lines were ok before i started this disaster of a repair.
