    Reboring from 750 to 850

    Hi guys,
I am going to go through with a renovation of my 750 from 77 this winter.
In that connection I had planned to rebore the cylinders and put in new piston rings.

But now I am thinking about reboring it to a 850 and giving it oversized pistons. Has anybody tried that? Is it a bad idea? What would it mean for the the bikes performance?

    Cheers...

Seems to me that somebody named Suzuki did exactly that....and then added a shaft drive to it and created a whole new line of motorcycles.

I think it may be best to wait for Nick to reply...I am sure he knows the exact specifics.

Wiseco makes an 844cc kit for your bike...that would be your best bet. Compression is at a managable 10.25:1 and would be a great boost for your bike. It is a 2mm overbore.

I'm thinking about doing exactly the same to my 1977 750. Are the stock liners ok to take the extra boring - from 65mm to 69mm?
