    coil resistance question

on my 82 gs850gl i just read the resistance between plug wires 2 & 3 and got 33k ohms (good). between 1 & 4 i get no reading (OL on my digital meter). i did not disconnect any other wires from the coil to do the test however. everything is still connected under the tank- could that be the problem?? the bike runs fine except for an occasional stumbling problem at about 3000 rpm's. thanks for helping.

You should read something, there would apear to be a small break in the circut some place, possibly a cap or one of the wires, the high voltage is able to jump the break but you will loose some power.
