    GS750 Electrics

I've read in the archives about conversion to Electrex rectifier/regulator and generator and Dyna coils as a preventative measure.

My '82 GS750 has about 45k miles and original electrics. Is it a good idea to do this conversion ?

Just spend an afternoon cleaning and making sure all electrical connections are tight. Make sure you have good grounds too.

OK thanks guys - I'm not having problems, so that's another one for the "When it breaks - maintain it" list.

        Thanks again

The cleaning and checking connections isn't....that is preventative maintainance....you may keep your R/R and Stator longer with good connections.

Add a ground cable from the battery (-) to one of the mouting bolts for the reg/rect that will eliminate a lot of problems Also do not allow the bike to run with a low oil level Oil is used to cool the stator

Thanks - I've also heard that adding a ground cable to the starter body (usually mounting bolt) helps too.
