78 gs1000 carbs

What kind of carbs came stock on most gs1000s in '78? I bought a Kat chassis that someone stuck an old two valve motor in, and I am guessing they are mikuni smoothbores. Where does one hook up the fuel lines too? Jim [img][/img]

you have Mikuni VM type carbs. there will be two bowl vent tubes on a top rail, one vaccume line off the #3 (from left to right) for the petcock, and the fuel line is on the bottom fuel rail.

Don't assume that they are smoothbores since those are quite rare. Send us a picture of the back of the carbs and we can probably identify them.

vm28ss fitted to UK spec GS 1000 s and en models.
