    Loose wire

Is it the wire covered with a braided spaghetti that goes to the oil-pressure switch, having a connector that snaps onto the switch terminal?

        Oil pressure switch connection

Well, it's supposed to be connected to the oil-pressure switch, so I would guess that your oil pressure light isn't working. If you slide the connector on the wire onto the terminal on the switch, that should restore the connection; that way if your oil pressure falls low, you'll get the warning light.
