    fork replacement

Got a GS1000G with a bent fork Found a man here in GSresources thar has a set of forks from a 79 GS1000. I called the dealer and asked if they would interchange and all he could tell me was that the part numbers were differant, hey could not advise me any further. :?
Can anyone out there tell me wether or not this is an acceptible swap?

Although I can't say with 100% certainty, my hunch is that both sets of forks are interchangeable, even if the parts numbers are different. Chances are pretty good these forks will fit your GS1000G.

I agree, the differences are not in terms of diameter or length. Perhaps one of them has air suspension, the other one has not... I would'nt be worried, it will fit.

Just thought about this: make sure the replacement forks both have the holes for dual front brakes. Early GS1000's with wire wheels came with just a single front brake.
