    Brake fluid disposal

What should I do with a quart or so of used brake fluid?

Is it recycled or can I just pour it down the drain?

recycle it with your used engine oil.

Many municipalities will allow you to recycle automotive fluid such as brake fluid. You should treat brake fluid as you would antifreeze so you don't want to be pouring it anywhere that might drain into lakes, streams etc.

Antifreeze is a pain to deal with, I wish they'd make some non-toxic stuff. To be perfectly honest I just let the antifreeze go into the ground and lock the pets inside. Like I want to truck around 15 gallons of antifreeze after I work on my van. :?

They actually make biodegradable hydraulic oil and grease that you can dump on the ground.
