    after market petcok

    Hello All,

I have a 79 gs 850 with 26 mm slide mikunis. Is it possible to run this engine (I have a different tank) with a petcok that is not vaccum activated?

    Thanks in advance

Yes you can get a pingel. Quality petcock.

Just plug the vaccume niple on the carburator. I second the Pingel route.

I found this place had the best price. For me the petcock, adapter plate and shipping were under $70.00

Does anyone make an aftermarket selection WITH vacuum activation?

I like not having to remember to turn off the gas, but the 1980 850 petcock (the screwdriver-required one) has room for improvement...

Pingel makes one with vaccume as well! That site I listed above even sells them.

I really dont mean to sound like frikin Pingle sales rep. I just dont know what elce to use than these crappy OEM petcocks. And I havent heard a single Pingel complaint.

                  Yes

I second Patrick's comments...Pingels are somewhat expensive but they are of superb quality. Also, the price he mentioned seems very, very good to me.

I think Pingel only makes a vaccum petcock for Harley's
