I've got a 1981 GS1000G, and a couple of questions. I'm doing an oil change and need to know the procedure for draining and refilling the bevel drive on the bike. I'm assuming that I take out the screw marked 'oil level' and fill 'til it starts to run out that hole? how much for the rear wheel bevel drive?
also, having investingated the horrbily loud clutch, I've found that the clutch hub nut is quite loose, although the lock washer has been bent to stop it coming undone. again, I'm assuming the PO had trouble locking the clutch hub and just did up the nut as tight as he could get it (which isn't very tight at all!). should this be tight, and if so, what torque?
I also have a mysterious oil leak that seems to eminate from the top fo the crankcases, but I'll do a little more investigating before I start posting for answers on that...
