    Valve Adjustment Tool

Where can you purchase one or does someone have one they would like to sell?

Can you do valve adjustment without one?

Hmm. My bike uses valve shims, and a valve shim tool to remove them for resizing.

    What does yours use?

Assuming your talking about a valve depressor tool for shim removal JC Whitney sells one about $30. I wouldn't try a valve adjustment without one.

Yeah, just buy the tool and consider it a long-term rental. When you're done with the bike -- and you will be some day -- you can sell the tool for about half what you paid. Total cost, about $15.

CRC carries the shims (or they did just about 2 years ago) for a fair price, as well as the cam cover gaskets.

Examine your existing shims. If they are undamaged, and the numbers clearly readable, the local bike shops will likely swap you for what you need for a buck each or thereabouts.

My local shop traded them with no fee, he needed the sizes I was trading, and had too many of the sizes I needed...
