So we built this "carb sync tool"...cost more like $18.00 canadian as we bought slightly higher quality hose. We were able to sync to readings of 8HG on the mechanical guage, and with the finer adjustments on idle and air screw, solved the surging problem on my GS850. Now idles smooth at 1000RPM and remains smooth throughout the powerband. Would definitely recommend, with my limited knowledge, this suggestion.
