    Crankshaft Question?

I was wondering does #1 and #4 piston fire at the same time? and the same with #2 and #3, I took off the head of my sick running GS1100 and noticed #1 piston is about 3/4 of a inch lower in the hole than #4, its flush with cylinder, the crank is set on TDC on the ignition side (T), my question is, is my crankshaft twisted??? Its not welded.......Thanks :?

That sounds bad. #1 and #4 fire at the same time so they should be flush with the top of the block at the same time. Same goes for #2 and #3.

You can kinda tell here. At least you can see 2+3 are at the exact same height.

It is probably only twisted...easily repaired by falicon.

they do not fire at the same time, they do rise and fall together but they fire 360 degrees apart
            the firing order is 1,2,4,3
when 1 fires, 4 is at top dead center finishing the exhaust stroke and starting the intake stroke.

            your crank is twisted!!
have you been racing? and over revved it?

There is a wasted spark that does not do anything on one of the cylinders as it on the exhaust stroke.
