Rebuilding my GS1100E engine and want to know if there is a gasket between the upper and lower cases or is it machined and sealed, doesn't show one in the parts listing!

No gasket for the case's, I just use some good RTV.1166cc 1/8 ET 6.09@111.88
1166cc on NOS, 1/8 ET 5.70@122.85
1395cc 1/8 ET 6.0051@114.39
1395cc on NOS, 1/8 ET 5.71@113.98 "With a broken wrist pin too"

I suggest Yamabond 4 or Gaskacinch...they are made for that kind of application.

That's right no gasket , I use a non-setting sealing compound, as Hap suggests, I also use the same compound on both sides of what ever gaskets I have fitted to the motor(except the head gasket) so as if I need ot remove a component I can re-use the gasket.
