O ring cylinder
Getting my GS1100 bored to fit my 1166cc Wiseco 13.5 to 1 and was wondering if I should get the cylinders O ringed?? because of the high compresson pistons......Tags: None

With that small of a bore I would not do it unless you are going to add some NOS. If you do, go back with a copper head gasket.

I think Cope racing recommends it with high compression pistons. If you do o-ring them then you need to use a copper head gasket that has the o-ring groove too.1166cc 1/8 ET 6.09@111.88

You want to use a coppoer head gasket that DOES NOT have an o'ring groove in it. Yes. The wire bites into the gasket, and that is what makes it seal. The gasket can be reused if need be. It needs to be anealed, then put back on upside down so the wire can bite into the other side.Originally posted by RacingJakeAh, so that's how they get the groove in the copper head gasket.
