    painting carbs

anyone have experience painting the stock carbs? I have mine off and some rattle can engine enamel...any suggestions or hints? I recently used flat black on the engine and am impressed with the results. I sure don't want to muck anything on the carbs up with the spray paint.

I'm not thinking that the paint is going to give you any performance gains, so why do it??

thanks, I was expecting a horsepower increase with new painted carbs.
I realized too late that I had posted in the wrong forum. Any tips for painting carbs? See you at the dragstrip....

If you want to paint them You need to completely disassemble them & clean them very good. Reassemble the carbs. Paint each individual carb
before assembling the carb rack Let them dry for 24 hours. After assembly you can do touch ups

ditto. i did mine too. i used a product called adhesion promoter before paint. i think it is like a clear primer. the tops and bottoms need polished again but the black is good.
