There are two major differences. The XC oil ring is 2.8mm thick and the XG oil ring is 2mm thick. The compression ring on the XC is ferrox coated cast iron and is 1.2mm thick, and the XG is ductile iron and is 1mm thick. The top rings on both sets are the same material and both are 1mm thick.
