1000 S head

Anybody know if there's a difference between the original "S" 8V head, and the "E" model? '79/'80 model yrs. Thanks.

Any 1000 head from the same year is exactly the same. 79 & 80 heads are different.

What he said. In 1980 they went to CV carbs and therefore the intakes on the head are larger to accommodate the 34mm carbs. The bolt pattern is also mildly different as they added a bolt in the front of the cam chain tunnel to help with the notorious leaking problem they had in that area.
