Oil Cooler Adapter plate for 1981 GS750E, where to find/ Exists?

    Good afternoon,

I have seen a few riders successfully install an oil cooler system on their 750E; Lockhart, braided lines, etc. I'm having difficulty finding the adapter plate/hardware for the (oil filter cover) for the lines coming from the oil cooler.

Some look like they have a custom billet job for this, others seem to have an OEM plate from a (GXSR 1100, which I'm hearing came standard with an oil cooler) that fits with the GS750. Ive been searching for about 4 days now with little success. Any leads, postings or knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Please correct me if I've got anything wrong here, thank you!

    Cheers,
-"Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man."

To install a cooler on your bike, you need an adapter that replaces the existing cover on the oil distribution cavity, just below the carbs. The 1100E bikes have oil ports just below the oil filter cover, but not the 750E bikes.

You might want to post a WTB ad, asking for an adapter cover. I wouldn't be surprised if someone here has a spare.

Any one have recommendations for a oil cooler kit for a 1980 GS1000S? It was a balmy 88 degrees here in San Jo yesterday so I took 1000S out for what was going to be its first long ride since being restored after a horrific crash. About 35 minutes in I noticed my Canadian temp gauge (centigrade) was climbing into the 150 - 180

Many thanks for responding. I ended up finding this on eBay for a good price, I think it has all I need (let me know if link doesn't work):
