Put up some better pics... I can't see from that one but I think you have the right ones. As long as they are not the later opposed piston type should be fine.

may have to get some braided lines while i am at it eh

Ive just bought a 99 yamaha r6 last night, so i fear my gs may be unloved for a wee while in its restoration.

I'm just bumping this one to the top since the spring brake threads are starting up again like clockwork.

For all you guys just joining the party this swap was first done back in 2006, (by me) and since then several others have made the switch as well. I have several thousands of miles on this mod, so I know it works. It's easy, it's relatively cheap and it's a huge improvement over the stock set up.

Is anybody selling the caliper mounting brackets or is there a template out there somewhere? I'd like to do the older/bigger rotor swap like was first done back in '06.

This question comes up a fair bit... if you fit the CBR rotors with a spacer behind you must chop 3-5mm off the top of the speedo drive dust cover.

If you don't it will hit the speedo drive when you do up the axle bolt & jam the wheel... Ask me how I know this

                                This is the cover:

Very important to check all clearances when fitting the CBR Rotors. 1 of the bolt ends (threaded end sticking through caliper) is the closest point. Clearance is measured to the rotor rivets that join the spider to the rotor braking surface (there is one in the bottom left of the pic above).

                                Dan
