I heard that if you change the cams from the 1978 GS1000 to 1978GS 750 cams it will increase H.P. I was wondering if anyone has tried this modification ? Thanks Joe

I have indeed heard of this mod. In fact, my manual recommends it. It is said that the intake cam has a higher profile. I think you need to only use it. You might have to add more fuel by re-jetting especially if you go to a freer aftermarket pipe.

From memory it does, but beware that it also shifts power from the low range to up top on a standard bike. In conjunction with a big bore kit it would make a nice power change.Comment
