Swingarm bushings/bearings
I know that our GS swingarms use needle bearings, but I bought a used 1100 aluminum arm and it has oilite bronze bushings in it. They fit the pivot bolt very well. Is this something that someone would have done for drag racing application? I guess there might be a little more stiction with the bushing, but does anyone think this is a bad thing? Oh yeah, '79 GS1000S.Tags: None

I would think that if they were kept clean the bronze bushings would work fine. I've haven't had a lot of problems with the needle bearings either.

Actually, the bushing is much better in this application. Keep it full of clean grease (add a grease zerk if there isn't one) and it will never give you trouble or pile up like the bearings can.Originally posted by hp1000s View PostI guess there might be a little more stiction with the bushing, but does anyone think this is a bad thing?
