Thanks for this BadBilly, Looks like the 1175cc version is the go for me.
Any pointers on prefferred manufacturers for the pistons/liners?
When you say GS1100 crankshaft, is that 2v or 4v gs1100?
Don't suppose you know of any destroyed big blocks sitting around? I have a mate who's seriously into casting engine cases, heads etc, and it's surpirisingly cheap to get done. But would be eaiser if I have an example to create the moulds from.

Dont really know where to find pistons. Sleeves can be had from LA Sleeve in California and possibly APE (contact Big Jay). I have a used set of MTC 1175cc pistons that I could be talked out of. I also have an APE big block that is in excellent condition that is collecting dust.
The GS1000 2V motor has a stroke of 64.8mm and the GS1100 4V has a stroke of 65.93mm. At 78mm piston size the crank swap nets you 22 more cc.....But from experience I can tell you the crank swap is not reliable.......Billy

Thats pretty cool. About a $400 upgrade. I wonder if the performance gain would be noticable for the average rider?
