Crap, I moved over the weekend, and have been without the internet since Thursday. It has been both a pain and refreshing.

Since a few days have gone buy I will understand if the wheels have moved on to the next buyer. I should honestly be spending money on the house right now anyway. But if they are still available I would be interesting in hearing the terms of sail. Colombus would be a stretch, but I might be able to make something happen.

To all interested, the move went well. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I had lost my camera and was hoping to find it while packing up.

    Boy did I.

Allow me to go off topic and share a funny story. I lifted up my mattress, and my camera was wedged between it and the boxspring. My buddy Rob starts laughing and accusing me of trying to take some lewd photos of my girlfriend. I laugh, but I have no recollection of putting the camera there.

My friends and I have a long history of pranking each other when we can get our hands on each other's cameras. So I turned it on, and checked the last few photos taken. The last one was of my GF in a compromising position. Then it all came back to me. We came home from one particularly fun evening out, and I jokingly snapped a photo of her. She wasn't nude or anything (or doing anything particularly prurient), and I thought she looked fine, but she deamed the picture unflattering, and demanded that I delete it. I refused, and when she wasn't looking I shoved it under the mattress.

In my drunken stooper, I completely forgot about it.

Okay, so I offered them to BeerGood, but he hasn't responded. Next in line is CafeKid, then Texatl.

How long do we wait for BeerGood before we move on down?

Those are the handiwork of the owner. Have a look at Beergoods original thread to see how he did it - http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...d.php?t=102475

Try ebay if you're not handy yourself.

Sorry BG, don't want to hijack your thread.

Are you ever down Columbus OH way? I have a set of GS spoke wheels a friend just took off a 79. Front only has one disk though.

    true

(How long does a reply need to be? 'True' was too short, hence this parenthetical.)

Or, to dress it up, as those stamped edges are kinda ugly on ALL tanks (makes them look like what they are: Mass produced) Try some CHROME car door trim. Its just about the right edge to accept it. Just an idea i had considered on my cafe, before i decided that i wanted to get rid of chrome, and now that i am hemming and hawing on again...Dontcha love cafes? They are NEVER done...

I had the edge painted black back when the bike was red, and I will probably do the same on this. I am waiting to see how the new seat will meet up with it.

As for the lacquer over enamel, I think that had to do with color bleeding through, since it's a clear lacquer, I figured I'd take my chances. Worst case scenario I have to repaint. Which as you can tell, isn't really a problem for me.

Another idea for the edge of the gas tank....you could always put some windshield trim or something similar there to hide it.
