    yoshimura swingarm?

Was there ever any such thing as a yoshimura swingarm for a 83 gs750es? They guy I bought my bike from said it was an aftermarket swingarm, im pretty sure its just a sticker

Could you post a picture of it? Back in the early '80s I think they would modify a stock one for a hefty price. I know they added bracing to one on the 700 that Kevin Schwantz raced.

gday mate, not unless it came of a formula 1, bike, and it would have been late 70s, and normally they were gs1000s, as wes cooley, or graeme crosby, replicas regards.

If it's just a basic (non-braced) rectangular alloy swingarm, well that's what they came with stock.

I can't seem to recall an aftermarket swingarm in the photos I've seen of Cooley's 750 or Shwantz' 700 - I've got some photos somewhere, so I'll check.

FWIW, there is supposed to be an article about Scwhatz' Yosh/Suzuki GS700 in the premiere issue of MotorCyclist Retro out next month. Would probably be a great source for visual info.

This should be Schwantz' 700, with what looks like a widened and braced stock swingarm (not the stock-style adjuster) to accomodate the wider wheel....

(Sorry for the poor photo, compression is junk)

Note that they also junked the forks, brakes, master cylinder, bars, rear shock, airbox, exhaust, and the "raved about" 16" front wheel....

In AMA racing Suzuki had to run the 700 though I believe it had the 750 topend on it. The Yosh braced swingarms usually had the bracing under the swingarm tying into the lower shock mount though they may have done Scwantz' different. It's possible the swingarm is Moriwaki.

+1! Some nice bits on that bike. I have a new Yosh ignition cover (black) for the 700/750's that I will be listing soon...unfortunately, I cannot use it on my 1100.

                      Tony.

I will try to have a pic posted over the weekend. I paid $113.00 plus shipping for this item....they are pretty hard to come by, even used, and this one is new. Aluminum, black paint or coated, with the Yosh 'E-47' (lol) stamped on it.
I thought the 750's and 1100's used the same size cover, but that isn't the case. I planned on putting it on the bay this summer, but I will post a pic here, and sell it for my cost if anyone is interested, or better yet, trade for an 1100 one.[-o<
