    1085 Kit

Does a 1000 motor have to be sleeved to put in a 1085 kit or can you just bore out the stock cylinders?

It has to be bored. Although I am looking into using the 1100g cyl block for my 1000e not sure what it will take to make it fit. Dan

It just needs to be bored - plenty of sleeve left. Lots of owners have many miles on the 1085 kit.

It helps to chamfer the edges of the combustion chamber a bit for the slightly wider bore, to eliminate a potential hot spot

You can also get a 1100 cc Wiseco kit for the 2 valve GS1000, best price is here. No resleeving required, just boring out the stock block.
