whether it is possible to put a larger engine in gs 500 1981 frame (like gs 650, 750)? also, whether it is possible set pistons, cylinders and cylinders head from gs 550 to gs 500 (1981) because all other parts look just the same?

My understanding is that you can put a 650 top end on a 550, assuming you can find parts. Some case grinding is required though so it's a pretty heavy duty repair. Do a search and you should turn up a few threads on the topic.Ed

i got engine from gs 500 and i believe it is so called "reduced effect" 27 hp (20 kw) engine. it is a little bit to lazy for my taste and i would like to release some extra power from it. is it possible at all to get some extra power from this engine? i would appreciate every answer.Comment
