Short kickstand or someone to shorten existing?

Hey guys, with the GSXR front end swap on my bike, my kick stand is now grossly too long. I don't have access to a welder or another grinders or cutters to shorten this bad boy so I'm looking for recommendations on where I can take it or if anyone in the Cincinnati/Tri-State area would be willing to take care of this for me for a fee? Any help is appreciated.

Take it to ANY weld shop or race car builder & show them the bike. They will cut the foot off, take out a section, & weld the foot back on. Shouldn't take more than 30 to 40 minutes tops! Ray.

That's what I figured, but I'm new to the tri-state area so I have no idea where any shops are around here...

Another question regarding this, at what angle should the bike lean on a kickstand with respect to the ground?

Just enough that it doesnt fall the other way if blown by the wind & not so much lean that it falls over on the left side. Ray.

What part of the tri state area are you in? Tri state is a vague description. We have residents in three states (hence tri state) scattered in 15 different counties that call this home.
If you have it heated and bent, or cut and sectioned, you still have to take into consideration how it looks and how well it tucks away when not in use. Yoiu certainly don't want it hanging down too far when it is tucked in. When I modded my sons bike into a hardtail chopper/bobber, we just heated it up and bent it enough to give a small lean.

I said tri-state because I'm willing to go anywhere in the tri-state to get this done . I'm on the east side of cinci on the ohio side right outside of 275. Mine definitely needs shortened if not moved on the frame. I retrofitted rearsets on the bike and as is the kickstand not only holds the bike too upright but also interferes with the shift lever. I don't supposed you have the equipment/know-how to shorten or relocate my kickstand do you?

I don't know about that. THis one on this zx12 katana I am building looks pretty good done by Richard out in Ontario. He has one on his bike too.

He wasn't asking weldshop guys, he was asking us what he could do. You told him don't bend it, it looks stupid, I gave him an alternative opinion.

Actually I think the stand on katman's bike looks pretty badass, but it still looks like it's interfering with the shift lever?

It DOES look good & Rob wouldn't have done it that way if it wouldn't clear. You will need to find a very good fabricator in your area to do that for you. All they will need is an oxy/acetelyne torch & a vise to bend it with after it is heated. I really think you should take the bike to them, though, so they can fit it & get the bend correct. Fast & easy is to cut the foot off, remove an inch or so off the leg, & re-attach the foot. This is the LEAST expensive way. I have DRAG bikes with VERY short kickstands with the foot welded back on. Ray.

Oh yeah, I'm most definitely just going to get it shortened. My bike is not a beauty queen so although the bend looks pretty sweet, it's not worth my money. And these day's I'm having a hard time spending money on the bike unless its a go-fast part
