It's Duplicolor Engine enamel. Here's a link to photos of the project so far:

Yes, the guy was real cool...gave me my money back and told me to throw it in the trash.

I got the aftermarket cam chain guide. It's different a little, but I think it will work. It's the same length, the curve is a little different, and the area where it will have the tensioner pushing on it is different. But the area on the new one is pretty flat, so I think it will be fine? What do you pros say?

Oh, and I got the last of the side covers painted:

My order was perfect, except they missed one bolt. I called them and they sent the missing bolt, no charge. I'm happy. They have a great selection of metric chrome stuff, too.

To follow up, I didn't use a "kit". I figured out what I needed and ordered it. I used the mushroom head bolts for the cam cover and for the cam chain tensioner, oil cooler adapter and tach gear, and I'm using chrome hex head bolts for the side covers.

Here's a link to some pics of the project so far. They are mixed up a bit... I need to re-arrange the photos to show the progression.

Thanks! I'll take a look. I have that old Yosh article on the GS1000 build. I did notice that they didn't brace as much as my photo.
